The Ministry of Dice Episode 96 “Iron Man is Disappointing”

MoD Logo Smaller

Welcome one & all to the landmark Dice Masters event of the week – the latest episode of the Ministry of Dice!

In this instalment we continue our running theme of seeking to develop fun & different ways to stay engaged with the game while things are quiet on the new release front. We’ve been experimenting with a Campaign style format and share what we’ve been playing around with in the hope that others may like to try it too.

What is the campaign format we’re trying? How did we put it together? How else could it work? We’ve been focussing on a Dungeons & Dragons version, but there are options available we explore.

All this – and the Uno update we’ve all been waiting for…

If you enjoyed the podcast, then we’d love you forever if you could take a minute to go and give us a 5 star rating and maybe a short review. It really helps us get the word out to new listeners and is encouraging to Andy.

Here’s a handy link that collates all the podcatchers that have a review function:

  1. Love the episode and wanted to add to the Campaign play idea.

In the before times, we locally ran some campaigns that spanned over a few weeks and carried over effects week to week. One was a DC Injustice Campaign (which I happened to write up on dm-north here: https://www.dm-north.com/dice-masters-injustice/) which was pretty fun (but still needs tweaking). It made use of a custom set of cards that had different cards and challenges unlocked each week.

In the before before times (before dm-North) we ran a Civil War Campaign where we divided up the characters in Dice Masters into Team Cap/Team Iron Man/Neutral. This one added Cap and Iron Man as “Leaders”. These were a 9th card on each Team that could only have one die on them and started in the bag. Teams scored points for their side each week, and the losing side each week could ban cards for the remainder of the campaign. Maybe I should write this one up too????

Long story short is the whole Campaign Play idea is a cool twist to the Dice Masters gameplay. Really like what you are doing with the D& D stuff. Definitely inspiring me to give it a go as well.
